Mr. Michael Y.K. CHAN AWARDED
HONORARY FELLOW BY LINGNAN UNIVERSITY
(榮譽院士，嶺南大學)

We are proud to announce that Mr. Michael Y.K. Chan, Chairman of our Café de Coral Group, is awarded Honorary Fellow of Lingnan University in recognition of his career achievements and various contributions to the local community.

At the Ceremony of December 2, 2009, Dr. Li Siu-leung, Associate Professor of Department of Cultural Studies of Lingnan University delivered the citation:

“During Mr. Chan’s 25 years with Café de Coral, he has made an enormous contribution to entrepreneurial development and service to community. Through the years, Mr. Chan has led Café de Coral to evolve from a domestic fast food corporation to a diversified international catering conglomerate. He has replaced an old-fashioned, profit-driven mode of management with a new concept of quality and customer satisfaction,…earning him a number of local and international awards in management and entrepreneurship…. He was once a recipient of “The Stars of Asia Awards”. Today, with four decades of success, the story of Café de Coral has become a model for emulation and a good case study for researchers.”

Over the years, Lingnan University has conferred their honorary fellowships to numerous distinguished individuals of outstanding accomplishments and remarkable contributions in various aspects. Upon conferment, Mr. Chan remarked: “I feel deeply grateful to be able to serve in both the private and public arena.  Having this recognition, I shall further pursue my management excellence and continue my humble contribution to the society at large.”
