Café de Coral¡¦s Introduction of 4G Design Concept
Creates a New Era in Hong Kong¡¦s Fast Food Industry

Café de Coral, Hong Kong¡¦s leading fast-food company, is once again pioneering the industry. It expects to invest $100 million over a two-year period in a project to introduce its revolutionary 4th Generation (4G) post-modern design concept to offer an upgraded restaurant environment and set new dining standards for the industry.

The 4G-design concept has been developed by Mr. Michael Y.K. Chan, the Chairman of Café de Coral. Mr. Chan¡¦s 4G design aims to elevate the interior architecture and design image of Café de Coral restaurants to meet the benchmarks set by today¡¦s hotels and to revolutionise their facilities, ambience, service, and image, all in one go.

The first three 4G Café de Coral restaurants are in Tsim Sha Tsui¡¦s Gateway, Tsim Sha Tsui¡¦s Hilton Tower, and Tai Po¡¦s Uptown Plaza. Strategically placed digital displays and plasma monitor screens in the restaurants provide customers with a multi-sensory experience as they dine; simultaneously pleasing their senses of sight, sound, smell and taste.

The use of materials like silver black chromatic mirrors, Italian marble and leather heightens the stylish minimalism of the interiors with fashionable cosmopolitan appeal. With their walls wrapped in silver chrome glass paired with murals of artistic monograms, the 4G-design concept restaurants radiate a hotel-style comfort and elegance.

A ¡§hand color approach" has been adopted to contrast colourful food shots set against classical black and white backgrounds, conjuring up the sleek urban ambience of a post-modern art gallery. These are combined with concierge-like counters, luxurious leather upholstered sofas, ambient lighting and new staff uniforms. Café de Coral is once again leading the rest of the pack in advancing Hong Kong¡¦s fast food culture to new heights of image and customer comfort.
